Walking

Well, the boys have decided to start walking. It is so funny how different they are in their approach. Kiefer is very cautious, and has been with many things. So his steps are very slow and careful, and if he feels like he is going to fall- he stops and catches his balance and then continues on. Kellan on the other hand goes really fast and falls a lot. But he doesn't seem to mind falling, just gets back up again and starts walking again. They still primarily crawl, but they are testing out this walking business and are so proud of themselves. Its pretty sweet.

Side note- So I was trying to be a good mom and capture the "first" walks on video...probably would have helped if the camcorder was recording! WOW! I was so mad at myself, obviously we don't use it enough...anyway, I'm sure they will do it again and I can capture their "second" walks. :)

Pictures

As I am trying to add to this blog, I am realizing that I have been slacking in the taking pictures department. The most recent pics I have of the boys together is from Christmas, individually sometime in February for their 1st haircuts...so, I will work on taking some more recent pictures. They actually just had their pictures done by my friend Aleah for an "advertisement" for her photography business- I'll post a few of those...

Anyway, the latest in the Olson household has been finding a new daycare. We unfortunately had to make the change from their Auntie Lissa to a new person due to the changes with my job. We live in New Brighton, Alissa lives in Blaine, and my job is in Eagan- so you can do the math and figure out that the morning drive to get the boys to daycare and me to work was around an hour and 20 minutes. Luckily my parents helped with the transition and took them almost every day to Alissa's until we found some one else. What a fiasco that has been! We found "Miss Angie", who turned out to be a complete odd ball whose expectations for my 15 month old boys were more appropriate for a 3 year old. At any rate, that arrangment didn't last and we found Jamie who has turned out to be wonderful. It's so apparent that she really likes our boys and wants to take care of them. We also get a daily "report" of their going-ons, which is kind of fun. They came home with mowhawks yesterday and had a dance party...pretty cute. Anyway, we are hoping it continues to go well...

The boys are 16 months tomorrow (5/6) and doing so well. We are not walking alone yet, but doing a lot of furniture walking. Kellan does this really funny sprinting crawl- he is really fast! They go up and down the stairs- Kiefer is very careful and I don't think has fallen down the stairs ever...Kellan on the other hand is a maniac and tries to go down the stairs faster than he should and has had quite a few falls- nothing that requires more than a hug so far though! They both love to go for walks, play outside, "throw" the ball for Rubee, and take baths. They are still a handful, but a lot of fun. I guess that's all for now.
